महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्या आदिवासी विकास विभाग महाराष्ट्र शासन अंतर्गत ही योजना राबवली जाते. या योजनेचे नाव राजे यशवंत राव होळकर महामेष योजना असे आहे. राज्यात होणारा शेळ्या मेंढ्यांचा घट विचारात घेता या योजनेची स्थापना करण्यात आली तसेच राज्यातील शेळीपालनास प्रोत्साहन मिळावे म्हणून राजे यशवंतराव होळकर महामेष योजना सुरू करण्यात आली.
महाराष्ट्राच्या विविध क्षेत्रांमध्ये माडग्याळ मेंढ्या तसेच संगमनेरी, उस्मानाबादी जातीच्या मेंढ्या किंवा शेळ्या आहेत. माडग्याळ, डेक्कन आणि सुधारित बोकड यांची गुणवत्ता सुधारण्याकरिता शासनाकडून या जातीचे जातिवंत उस्मानाबादी बेरारी आणि संगमनेरी शेळ्या मेंढ्यांचा पुरवठा केला जात आहे.
This scheme is implemented under the Tribal Development Department of the Government of Maharashtra. The name of this scheme is Raje Yashwant Rao Holkar Mahamesh Yojana. Taking into account the decline in goats and sheep in the state, this scheme was established and Raje Yashwantrao Holkar Mahamesh Yojana was started to encourage goat rearing in the state.
There are Madgyal sheep as well as Sangamneri, Osmanabadi breed of sheep or goats in various regions of Maharashtra. To improve the quality of Madgyal, Deccan and improved bucks, the government is supplying Osmanabadi Berari and Sangamneri goats and sheep of this breed.
लोकर खरेदी आणि वस्तूची निर्मिती
लोकरीच्या ब्लॅंकेट्स गालिचे जैन शाली सतरंज्या इत्यादी वस्तूंची निर्मिती करून त्यांचे विक्री करणे या गोष्टी शासनामार्फत केल्या जातात.
शासन स्थानिक मेंढपाळांकडून लोकरीची खरेदी करून तेथील स्थानिक लोकांना रोजगार देऊन त्यांच्याकडून लवकर निर्मिती करून घेत आहे आणि त्यातून मेंढपाळांनाही उत्पन्न मिळत आहे आणि स्थानिक लोकांना रोजगार मिळत आहे.

Purchase of wool and manufacture of goods
Production and sale of woolen blankets, carpets, Jain shawls, satranjya etc. are done through the government.
The government is buying wool from the local shepherds and providing employment to the local people and getting early production from them and from that the shepherds are also getting income and the local people are getting employment.
शेळी व मेंढी पालनाचे प्रशिक्षण
- एकूण तीन दिवसाचे शासनामार्फत शेळीपालनाचे प्रशिक्षण मोफत दिले जात आहे.
- प्रशिक्षणाची सोय पुण्यातील गोखलेनगर येथे केलेले आहे.
- येथे यांत्रिक पद्धतीने लोकर कातरणी शासनातर्फे करून दिली जाते.
Training in goat and sheep husbandry
- A total of three days training in goat rearing is being provided free of charge by the government.
- Training facility is provided at Gokhalenagar, Pune.
- Here wool shearing is done mechanically by the government.

- Who is the name of the applicant coming under the poverty line.
- An applicant who belongs to a Scheduled Caste group.
या योजनेद्वारे काय लाभ होतील?
- सुधारित पद्धतीच्या मेंढ्यांचे वाटप केले जाणार आहेत.
- शेळीपालनासाठी पायाभूत सुविधांची अनुदानाद्वारे सोय करून दिली जाणार आहे.
- शेळीपालनासाठी संतलीत खाद्यपदार्थांच्या अनुदानासाठी वाटप केला जाणार आहे.
- या योजनेसाठी वाटप म्हणून 370 लाख रुपये मंजूर झालेले आहेत.
- गटांची रक्कम ही नाबार्ड संस्थेच्या वतीने ठरविण्यात येते.
- या योजनेद्वारे 10 शेळ्या आणि एक बोकड असा गट देण्यात येतो.
- यातील 50% रक्कम ही अनुदान स्वरूपात मिळणार आहे.

- 50% of this amount will be received in the form of subsidy.
