Why is it necessary to link Aadhaar Card to Ration Card?
Ration card is an important document in our life. On top of the ration card, free ration or cheap ration is available through the government from cheap grain shops. This makes ration card directly related to our life and it is a very important card in our life. Many types of scams are exposed in ration card and making duplicate ration card is having the name of the same person in two ration cards. The name of the deceased should still be present in the ration card. Many such errors are found. Due to this, the government has now decided to make it mandatory to link the ration card with the Aadhaar card.

तिसऱ्या टर्म मध्ये पंतप्रधान झाल्याच्या नंतर भारताचे पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी लगेच तत्काळ कामांना सुरुवात केलेली आहे. त्यामधीलच काही कामांमध्ये रेशनिंग कार्ड आधार कार्ड लिंक करणे हे सुद्धा अनिवार्य केलेले आहे. यामध्ये रेशन कार्ड आधार कार्ड ला लिंक करण्याची शेवटची तारीख ही 30 जून इतकी होती. परंतु सरकारने जनतेसाठी तीन महिन्याची मुदत वाढ दिलेली आहे. आता आधार कार्ड व राशन कार्ड लिंक करण्याची तारीख ही 30 सप्टेंबर पर्यंत वाढविण्यात आलेली आहे. त्यामुळे नागरिकांना दिलासा मिळाला आहे आणि आधार कार्ड रेशन कार्ड लिंक करण्यासाठी 90 दिवसांचा वाढीव कालावधी मिळालेला आहे.
So much extension
After becoming the Prime Minister in the third term, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has started his work immediately. Linking of rationing card with Aadhaar card is also mandatory in some of the works. In this, the last date for linking ration card with Aadhaar card was June 30. But the government has given a three month extension for the public. Now the date for linking Aadhaar Card and Ration Card has been extended till September 30. So the citizens got relief and 90 days grace period to link Aadhaar card ration card.

What is this free ration card scheme?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) of the Government of India, the central government started this scheme during the Corona period. The basic objective of this scheme is to provide food and security to poor or low income destitute families. Under this scheme disabled, widows and senior citizens from poor families and low income families get the benefit of this scheme. Although the scheme was started for epidemics like Corona, the term of the scheme has been extended in 2023 and it has been extended till 31st December 2018.
